This composition brings the viewer onto the work site. giving us a front row view of raw work in motion. The explosion of a old train tunnel in Alaska. you can see the earth is heaving from the blast and the smoke is in progressive heights from the timing of each sets of charges. The use of orange and blues make the explosion pop off the painting. the drilling lines on the cliff are straight, accurate and clean. This painting is a testament to the engineering and hard work involved in carving out a new age of rail service.

The sunset capture's the poetry of the drill rig after a cold hard day of work on the tundra. The wind blowing the snow across the icy tundra. The viewer can imagine feel the cold hard sting of the wind in this harsh environment.
