Under Painting Art Workshop

Students hard at work

beautiful work created with great success

under painting now for the next layer

this is a great start

We had a wonderful weekend of painting and learning. Great work was just flying off the easels. It doesn't get better than this, only different.

Thank you all for joining me in this exercise of using under painting as a start to some real magic. Enjoy!!!

4x4 oil plein air

A painting a day. just off the easel. do you like this one?

second layer

Here is the second layer. See how the glazing is bringing this painting to life? There is a lot more transparency to this painting because of the glazing.  I am thinking of adding some more elements to the painting but right now I will live with it for a day or so and see how I feel about that idea.

this is just another approach to under painting technique. Join me, and take your paintings to the next level.

Under Painting Workshop

This is a first layer of an underpainting. I started to apply a second coat while the painting was still wet, by the books. see how rich and warm it looks so far. now I will let it dry and I will apply more paint and start the finishing touches. After about 3 layers it should be done. wonderful technique.

this is just a taste of what you can learn in this class. Join me, I would love to talk art and share with you.
